Coop Purchasing Groups to negotiate price, only works when there are a large number of suppliers/manufacturers, who are all fighting to sell to the customer/s (demand). Whenever those components are not in play, I am yet to see a buying group that can achieve real value. The iron ore market has high demand with many customers, a low number of suppliers, and constraints on supply. Good luck China!
