After re-reading your post it looks like we are thinking along the same lines, there are take aways from your post, so thank you for that.
For the lower grade ore it was my understanding that higher grade coal was needed to balance it out and vice versa for the higher grade ore would need less hgher grade coal or lower quality coal?
It seemed to me high quality coal was priced higher after lower priced ore was traded at discount or along those lines, like different cycles through time.
When low quality ore had run up in price, the higher grade coal would follow suit so to speak.
I'm no expert by a long shot nor do i have industry experience.
Just thought i'd run a similar idea past you to see if i was on the right track.
