given recessions are a possibility, company earnings haven't been hit as much as one would have thought. as i have read elsewhere once more u.s. companies report lower earnings then that's possibly the next trigger for a retreat...
nothing has changed globally.. there's still a heck of a lot problems out there
inflation
European energy and war
The china syndrome
etc
