Hey Convexity...firstly good one trying to share overnight moves..
.HOWEVER....i think you should change/ammend your tables..FMG....there is very little value looking at the ADR's.....and personally i wouldnt highlight the moves.
WHY?....the volume that trades in US ( adr's) is meaningless....last night you say FMG adr's down 2.5%...did you know thats on 9k shares traded? Verse 2.3m traded yesterday on pub,lic hliday..typically 4m+...verse 9k shares on us listed line?....The US adr's dont matter is my point.
Iron Ore price...yep Dalian ( and/or Singapore futures) is the go...BUT....don't use October contract ...its not liquid and immaterial....Oct 24 has 5700 open interest....vs Jan 24 at 723000 open interest...OCTOBER TRADED 4 k contracts y'day vs january trading 480k contracts.for Daian iron Ore... Novemeber , Jan and May are the contracts to watch...as thats where the volume and open interest is.and re ' the Math'...if thats your wording....i'd disagree...for starters not every ADR is 2/1 ratio...and its 'not expected' Aus prices...it kind of is...but also depends on what % spread they typically trade at etc ...but i hear you.Anyway....constructive critisicm ...and good on you for sharing /helping.
