I think the futures fell late Friday due to some macro data in China showing new home sales dropped considerably in Feb. also pmi was down for Feb as well. However, the outcome of the meetings will provide direction to the price in the short term.
It is hard to gauge the data for the first couple of months as the timing of CNY usually has a very big impact on how the economy performs during that time. It was very late this year. Steel mills starting closing shop a bit earlier relative to the timing of CNY and downstream demand has been slow on restarting ops post CNY.
