I read that Minas Gerais had higher rainfall last week than the historical avg, which likely is the reason for the lower no of Vale shipments.
Great to see the big jump in FMG shipments (to China). It has been on the lighter side so far in 2024 since the derailment. Rio shipments have been quite subdued also for the most part of 2024 as well.
It should be noted that scrap stock is quite low, EAF production slower ramp up, losses quite heavy and uneconomic when compared to IO which has a much bigger decline of late. Anyway just something to be conscious of as it is a big variable in IO pricing.
