Solid state batteries will change the landscape.
When you get cars that can range from 1200KM's and higher and charge in a few minutes and yes cost down to $30K to $40K
then game over.
Solid state batteries never need replacing and can't ever catch fire.
Suspect they'll be expensive to begin with then drop quite quickly as does all new technology.
Give it another 10 years and most people will be driving an EV.
Then people will start buying solid state batteries for their homes and be completely off grid.
We are so lucky in Australia we get more warmer sunlight than most any other country so we can go more solar
where they can't really do that in Europe.
In the US they have shopping centres with solar panels on the car park to charge cars and the shopping centres making extra money for those that want to charge their cars.
I use my solar panels t charge my car as do the neighbours who use their solar to charge their EV's.
You see EV's everywhere now.
