That's not entirely true.
the cost was estimated to be twice as expensive to run hydrogen.
now if hydrogen was to half in price, or gas to double in price, or carbon credits become compulsory, then hydrogen would be more attractive.
GRR were estimating up $10/kg for hydrogen, everyone knows it can be made much cheaper than that. With $2 being the accepted target for next decade
