Nice post. Let me pick you up on one thing though. The term The Lucky Country was coined by Donald Horne, from the title of his book. It was heavily ironic. It spoke of a country that missed opportunities, underated its talent, was mired in mediocrity, anchored in the past and whose leaders lacked true vision, despite the country having wonderful resources. A country that worshipped the sun, sport and youthfulness, but overlooked the beauty of its natural heritage, its diversity and its potential. Very true at the time (1964) and still relevant today.
So, when we look at FMG, we see a company that DH would have been amazed by- a company that is trying to seize the day, to innovate, to break new ground, and to distribute wealth to the Australian people.
