Note I am not trying to pick on you today or anything, but this does raise an interesting point:

• One could argue, quite reasonably, that interest rates in Australia were increased dramatically more than the US... like multiple times more.
• In the US, mortgages have a fixed 30-year rate, meaning that when the Fed increases interest rates, it doesn't actually impact existing homeowners.
• Whereas in Australia, that is absolutely not the case.

The impact of an RBA increase to interest rates is significantly more in Australia on the ordinary person.

I am just making numbers up now, but 0 to 4.35% might be the equivalent of like 0 to 20% on the average US household (whom the higher cost of borrowing only impacts via short term debt and inflation in rents etc).
