This conversation is an example of one of the most common blunders investors make....the assumption that technology is static, it's not, it's constantly evolving at exponential rates. For example, solar panels are currently in development to be hail resistant with more flexible material forming mat-like panels. In fact I believe Fortescue has skin in the game with a Dutch research business on this very project.

Also another development would be increasingly more effective panels which can even process any sort of light strength on rainy days.
