BHP claim that the rail will be operational again after a week. Wow. That surely is nigh on impossible.
Removing 230 full carriages of ore and then reconstructing, not repairing 1.5km of track, perform QC checks on the track, perform trial runs and then in the interim surely taking precautions by travelling at a lower speed. Then there is the fact that they have a less train in operation also for the foreseeable future.
It will be interesting to see just how their shipping will be affected. Yes they can draw upon their inventory as a short term measure but that will be depleted very shortly.
