Shorts have increased yesterday, when there is no BB, shorters get in. So for couple of days there were no BBs. Also ASX going down to 23 month low does not help either, but BHP and RIO up in the morning.
This kind of on off BB are not supporting the SP, it will lend for good trading stock as opposed to good one for long term holders
