Firstly by using your logic then China should not need to import IO as it has plenty of resources at home... Oh but it imports massive amounts why? Because IO resources are of low quality or expensive to get to.

India actually has recently been putting bans on the export of its IO production in recent years. why? Because steel factories were runnning short of ore on the market to buy locally.

And so what if India exports steel? Which i think it is minor in comparision to China being a steel exporter.

India will trade friendly with Australia because it has shared security interests with Australia. And not only that but it has investments in Australia.

You might be delusioned to think BRICS is a tight nit group of similar thinking countries but that is false. India and China have very agendas.
