Yeah. Absolutely crazy weather in Brazil of late. Twelve extreme heat waves in various states, including Rio De Janeiro and Minas Gerais, with 39 degree heat in some cities and "feels like" temps of up to 58.5 C. Floods in Minas Gerais, Rio De Janeiro state, Sao Paulo state and in the southern states and also the north west state of Acre, and a drought and extreme heat in the Amazon, until a late rainy season, and now more floods in Espirito Santo- plus they have an outbreak of dengue fever, with over two million cases and 700 deaths.

Looks like it's all about El Nino. They need to seriously rethink there approach to the Amazon basin. Maybe take a leaf out of AFs playbook. Very difficult conditions for the population, and of course, for the miners. A very tough summer.

The State Coordination of Protection and Civil Defense (Cepdec) of Espírito Santo reported that, to date, 15 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the rains, 13 in Mimoso do Sul and two in Apiacá.
The estimate, according to an extraordinary bulletin released this Sunday morning ( March 24) by the state's Civil Defense, is that 4,481 people are homeless and 273 homeless because of the rains.
According to the state government, Civil Defense teams continue working, and the water level is dropping, allowing help to reach previously inaccessible places. In several municipalities, there were landslides, flooding and floods.
