In house systems and a lack of ability to even use data. Don't think big companies are more technical than excel. I've seen incidents where it wasn't even known clients were in margin call let alone deliberately trying to margin call them.
Margin calls are just system generated and some graduate processes them during the day and sometimes stuffs up along with system. There's no agenda to it or data mining going on not is there the capability to data mine.
