Granted actual trading activity in Australia is far lower, almost non-existent in some option chains, but that doesn't mean you can't trade.
Take for example FMGQK7 - a $21.50 February put option.
It hasn't traded since the 25 October 2022 and when it did, it was for a measly 6 contracts, however market makers are there quoting all the same:
If they are showing 600 contracts on the bid/ask, I could probably trade up to 5,000 contracts before it may become problematic.
So no volume in this contract.... but it is exceptionally liquid to trade.
