It would be quite exciting to get an engineering/construction firm on board to build the infrastructure at their expense and then farm it back to us.
Multi-user facility would then give them the opportunity to bring on board additional income through other users.
This would also leave the resource company to handle the resources, whilst the port experts do their thing - less scope for messy JV disputes and each player plays to their strengths.
The potential disadvantage I see here is that if the barge port becomes a "big" project designed for many users, it would take much longer to plan & build. I'd hate to see the project slowed down with a 3-4 year timeline on the barge port.
