Gee Sypaladin I find that statement a bit wierd. So if you are born into a family and grow up with brothers and sisters and are very close to your immediate family you consider that if subsequently that family member through choice or maybe medical or other reasons dont have children, they have no idea about being a real family. What an insult to the many couples and individuals who may have very strong family experience and values but for whatever reason dont have children.
The Late Billy Mcmahon was a long serving Coalition Minister, a Treasurer and also Prime Minister who didnt marry until age 57 and didnt have children until thereafter. To suggest that he would only have family knowledge or values only when he had kids in his old age is imo ludicrous.
Anyway you are entitled to your viewpoint. It does surprise me though that if you had a daughter that was say raised in a loving and close family environment and for whatever reason she never had kids it somehow would diminish her capacity to understand family needs and values and not qualify her for public life.
