I made a screenshot of Rossi's post. I believe it was sent by the company and based on GH1971's comment below, I believe it would have been sent out to all holders with email contacts registered with Automic - I likely didn't do that - I'm quite careful with leaving email addresses about.

I do believe, based on Rossi's post and GH1971's comments that the "Dear Shareholders ... (etc etc) ... (with) Brookes at the bottom - is authentic and came out when Rossi says he got it.

I noted that 11 May is mentioned as likely issue date and that 2, 3 ,4 ,5 and then monday 8 may (up until market close would be the 5 days used for VWAP calculations. That is slightly different to what I said above I'd said may 1 through may 5. I was out by a day.

I also think that a communication from the company to shareholders that on its clear wording says the price is likely to be lower than 21.5 with Brookes the chairman at the bottom would be misleading in the legal sense of misleading - in the actionable sense - if it was wrong. So I'm trusting Brookes is earnest and in good faith and is wanting to clear up misunderstandings.

I don't think 19 April is the announcement date (formal) was your words. Though I am open to why you think it would be. And of course you can talk me through the words in Rossi's post if you want to.

You post "whatever" at the end of your post. Of course communications between two people are voluntary and either can decline to continue if either thinks it pointless or there is nothing more useful to be said. I respect your right to discontinue.

I do currently think though that "announcement" date is going to be the date a company first announces a SPP to the ASX - not just the announcement written on the SPP and Prospectus booklet or whatever - which seems to be the post that is being replied to by oldtimer in the other thread.

I believed your story about a year long too and fro between yourself and your tax/legal advisor where you said in the end you were correct. That sort of thing happens in my experience.

Facts don't change bedger - we may lose interest in small details (because we have to attend more urgent matters) - but the facts don't change.
