Based on that logic perhaps you would say only a small intrinsic value but bot NO INTRINSIC VALUE .
But .....then there's jewelry demand which is quite separate from currency status and the use there is much more substantial , about 50% of production as I understand .
You may say still an ascribed value but I would say same as anything else ...anything has the value that people give to it .
But if it is a use apart from currency must have intrinsic value .
