31 new infections in China and the admission that tested asymptomatic people were not added to their list makes figures from China even less reliable.
So infections were brought back 'home' to China by Chinese students running from the US and Europe are supposed to have created a second infection wave but perhaps this is just masking an even greater understatement: the virus is now entrenched, all over China.
25% of those tested over many months and found infected are asymptomatic. And being in Wuhan or Hubei province wouldn't you prefer to keep that cold or sniffle to yourself than taking the chance of being locked up for 14 days? Some got sick some didn't.
Wuhan is now under 'half' lockdown again with permission for businesses to open withdrawn at a moments notice.
Even before they closed Wuhan the virus was out, and there is now the suggestion that the virus first became noticed in November.
There is now the likelihood that the infection is working it's way through the population and hopes that a seasonal change will stop it are futile.
Considering that there are infected Chinese walking around in China, the government must know, and the fact that the Chinese government blatantly lies there is a possible timebomb ticking away.
Should the infection openly emerge it could appear all over China and the most effective way to deal with it is to go into total lockdown. Either that or let possibly more than 6 million people die with bodies piling up outside hospitals, on streets and in apartments. A scene from hell, and in the heat of summer.
Overnight supply chains world over would be cut, global export markets terminated, international trade frozen, the economic repercussions unimaginable on top of a global pandemic.
Such a worry is primarily brought about by mistrust in the Chinese communist party. I wonder when it will understand that we are one amazing life form living under sufferance on an amazing planet. We should be more thankful than greedy and self centered
