AGL agl energy limited.

Is a demerged AGL retail a takeover target for a telco

  1. 2 Posts.
AGL is now offering internet connection as a bundle for its energy customers, as is Origin energy.

There seems to be value in bundling utility services (electricity, gas, internet, phone) together for the consumer on one bill. This would also be good for the utility, as it would likely reduce customer churn.

Telstra is launching Telstra Energy and some analysts have speculated Telstra could spend up to $20bn on the Telstra Energy venture

Would the 'green' demerged AGL Energy with its 4.5m customers be an attractive acquisition target for Telstra Energy?
