Most major mines are high concentration deposits in the middle of thousands of square kilometers of no resource. Once you move away from the Olympic Dam deposit, massive as it is, there is No U, No Gold, little copper, and only a low concentration of iron only a few hundred meters from the edge of the formation. Proximity means nothing unless you are along strike.
