January 11: (RWE Aust Business News) -
During November and December 2005 Atlas Gold Ltd (ASX:AGO) completed 100
RC holes for 5,592 metres at the Pardoo iron ore project located 75km
east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara of Western Australia.
Drilling confirmed extensive iron enrichment, greater than 55 per
cent iron, with strike lengths up to 400 metres.
Some results include 14m at 61.12pc iron, 3.67pc silicon, 0.72pc
aluminium, 0.1pc phosphorous from 4m and 6m at 61.06pc iron, 2pc silicon,
0.29pc aluminium, 0.09pc phosphorous from 86m.
Also, 2m at 62.83pc iron, 2.42pc silicon, 0.37pc aluminium,
0.24pc phosphorous from 0 metres and 12m at 61.74pc iron, 3.16pc silicon,
0.58pc aluminium, 0.25pc phosphorous from 10m.
"These are the best results achieved on the project to date, and
they compare well with other deposits currently being mined here in WA,"
managing director David Flanagan said.
"Moving forward the task at hand is to complete infill drilling
for resource estimation later this year."
Atlas shares were up 8.5c at 43c.
