To even consider Aldi in direct competition with Wollies is fanciful - Aldi stores attract a certain niche of customer (namely those who want to penny pinch on basic items), and as a result I can't see that there is any direct competition for like customers between the two.
We all know that Coles continues to loose market share - If there was to be a serious competitor to stick it to Woolies IMO it would come from a new player out of the US or UK or similar in time.
For now WOW remains the dominant market player in the grocery game and with good reason too.
