So is America really going broke? Sure they are in a lot of debt, however don't they also own plenty of gold? Couldn't they cover their debt by selling off some of their gold at these record high prices?
If they did sell gold would drop pretty quickly as it gets sold. What stops America from doing that, striking their bank balance clean and saying ha ha fooled you all?
I hear they may not actually have much real gold? I'm just confused about the issue is all.
