My favourite bank story was trying to close a credit card. I had paid a little extra off knowing I would be closing the account.
Long story short, I was $2.35 in credit. Went into the beach and after much pressure to not do so, I closed the account and was given a credit note for this amount and told to go to the teller to cash it.
Lined up. Waited. Gave teller the credit note and was told I owed $2.65. I explained it was a credit.
Okay. The explanation. Because I am no longer a bank customer, I was charged $5.00 to use their service!!! So I owed them.
Now, normally calm and collected, I spat. Manager in, yelling at other customers to get out now. About to be removed. I calmed down.
My solution...tell them to post me a cheque for my credit. It must have cost them to draw the cheque and post it out. Never cashed it. Still have the cheque :)
Dam banksters....lol
