shares held in your personal name for 12 months or more receive a 50% capital gains tax discount when sold and are taxed at your marginal rate of tax not 48.5%.
shares in your superfund receive a 33% CGT discount and are taxed at 15% flat rate unless you are in pension phase then they are taxed at 0%.
Shares sold within 12 months receive no CGT discount.
