I always had an opinion that weapons based violence in the past altered the behavioural aspects of aggression in communities and ended up selecting for disciplined co-operation, and weeded out the more aggressive traits. I have done a bit of weapons work (blades mainly) and it completely alters the physical risk and aspects of violence. You actually don't get many interactions with weapons before you most likely die or are disabled. Its not like what you see on Game of Thrones, you can be 6'6 jacked and still end up dead if you make a single misstep or are just unlucky.
