Credit always comes at a cost to someone. A lot of people think credit cards offer a free source of credit for 55 days, or Afterpay offers several weeks of free credit. It isn’t free, someone is paying for it somewhere
Credit cards - users with low discipline are paying
Afterpay - merchants are paying and likely passing the cost back to users via higher prices for their products in future. Or they could’ve lowered prices but now choose not to, to offset the additional Afterpay surcharge.
