Of course no one can say for sure,but APG is MT's life's work(or the best part of ) and I'd imagine he'd like to go out ie. retire, with a bang,putting icing on the cake,pull a rabbit out of the hat, all loose ends tied up, leave a monument to that work etc.
Perhaps getting the final money for the plant from OZC instead of becoming more beholden to Kronos, throwing another competitor into the mix is all part of a strategy. Perhaps that is just wishful thinking, perhaps not.

We will see.
