Dave R What ministers do probably has some discretion, they're meant to be senior politicians of experience who can perhaps trade/release information for policy gains.
But if the boss has lost the plot, opening himself up to be leaned on at the least, what are the minions doing. Are the cables (more damaging to Australia)more secret than we are seeing from wikileaks full of reports from the vast medieval court of hangers on that arrogantly gouges from Canberra airport when parliament is in town? Who and what embassies are they ? Is the preening of their egos enough to turn them all to rats. It seems enough for ministers(preen an ego here, stroke one there), so bet bet you the rats (otherwise known as ministerial staffers) are really playing.
