Is BHP the First Aussie Co to Lose $100B in Value

  1. 9 Posts.
From its peak a few years ago at about $48 to its current languishing low of $16.25, the nutters running BHP with their overly optimistic China stronger forever outlook, has destroyed $100B of shareholder value. At the same time that they predicted the optimistic China scenario, they also undermined the relationship with their major customer by changing the annual iron contract to quarterly, to extract more profit at the expense of good relations. Now that the commodities are dropping, or have dropped they have basically shot themselves in the foot. This is only one of the numerous strategic errors that they have made.
