Hi Ken
Clearly there is no evidence from Brainchip that Bosch is an EAP or an NDA but as you know in presentations and updates the CEO regularly referred to Bosch and Valeo as the type of Tier 1 automotive suppliers that Brainchip would be targeting.
You commented that Bosch has been working on Ai for a long time now well a long time is a relative term however it was in 2017 that Bosch decided that it needed to properly investigate/research this area however when you read the following and the information on its web site otherwise they have focused their research on deep learning networks. You will also note from the following extract that the intention of Bosch was to have their Ai research team up and fully functioning by 2021 so even assuming they had it up and running from 1 January, 2021 they face the following problems as I see it.
Intel has been working on deep learning for a much longer time than Bosch and has amassed a huge number of patents covering this area and into the area of spiking neural networks coming at the problem of Ai from a different perspective to Brainchip. Brainchip as you are aware patented and were granted their first patent in 2008 which comes at Ai via spiking neural networks differently to Intel and Brainchip also owns the intellectual rights to STDP (JAST).
Then there is Nvidia which also has been working on deep learning under LeCunn who dismissed the Brainchip approach and they too have amassed a large number of patents working at the problem from yet a different direction. Then you have Valeo which too has been working out of its Innovation centre in France on Ai and has patents in this area along with Samsung and others.
Then we have NASA who has worked with both Intel and Nvidia trying to use their two different approaches to Ai to provide unconnected intelligence for deep space missions without success and are currently trialling Brainchip's technology.
So what you have to believe to dismiss a relationship between Bosch and Brainchip is that Bosch in the space of 2017 to 2020 while getting its Ai Research Centre up to speed has managed to invent a new way of doing Ai which has allowed it to avoid all of the patent barriers put up by Intel, Nvidia and Brainchip not to mention the others and to be about to launch revolutionary products onto market never seen before having not previously hinted that they have discovered something completely revolutionary that will turn technology on it head and wipe out the competition from Intel, Nividia, Samsung, Valeo and Intel let alone Brainchip.
So while I am neutral on the question of Bosch being and EAP I do not think a strongly negative view to the idea has as much merit as a positive view point that the dots that have been found do seem to point in favour of such a relationship.
One of the critical points about the following extract from the About section on the Bosch web site is the use of the words "Using one of the largest datasets in the world" it is clear that the use of such words implies that Bosch is exploring deep learning techniques not pure edge/far edge processing as actual Artificial Intelligence at the edge/far edge is all about processing without connection to huge data sets in the cloud.
"Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence was established in 2017 in order to drive deployment of cutting-edge Industrial AI technologies across Bosch’s products and services. With AI, we help Bosch create solutions that are „Invented for Life“. We are an international team of 270 associates from several different locations such as Germany, India, United States, Israel and China. By 2021, Bosch will invest 300 million euros in the development of the center. Using one of the largest datasets in the world, available at Bosch, we conduct cutting-edge AI research, apply machine learning to Bosch’s products, and services across various Business domains including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Intelligent Services."
My opinion only of course.
