    Looking at a current picture of the area in Google maps, compared to page 11 of the December 2011 AusAmerican Mining independent report, you can see that the original La Paz tenement is relatively flat and has road access. Only about an 18km drive from the Western side of the tenement to a US Highway. Obviously BPL has increased its tenement holding in the area but the principle remains the same that the area is in a mining friendly jurisdiction and there's [still] no obvious problems with other industry or residences near the locations.

    And yes you are exactly right, the absence of uranium and thorium makes La Paz a very interesting prospect. Blind Freddie realises the (reported) grades are low but as we know in this game - scale and complexity of processing and environmental matters are a big factor. Lower CAPEX and OPEX can make a large scale project competitive, particularly if the resource is near surface and easily mined.

    Not having to deal with the health, environmental and regulatory issues associated with radioactive elements is a big deal.
