    Last year the CEO received a remuneration package of US$3,662,965. Let's round that down and call it approximately AUD$5.7m at today's exchange rate (I'm going to assume he gets remunerated similarly in this period - discussion on this below).

    If we assume 250 business days per year, the CEO is being remunerated the equivalent of AUD$22.8k per business day.

    Is this good value?

    I can perhaps understand this level of remuneration if a company is generating 100s of millions in revenue and is growing profits. However, BRN is neither of these things (and may never be).

    It's perhaps understandable that more than half of all votes that were cast were against adoption of the remuneration report at BRN's last AGM. It will be interesting to see how (if) the remuneration structure and company behaviour has changed since this first strike.

    BRN has stated that to attract the necessary talent, staff need to be remunerated accordingly. I agree with that sentiment. But does the BRN CEO have the necessary talent?

    The company's financials are usually where I turn to assess company health, and - let's just say - the next quarterly will be telling.
