Is Capitalism & Democracy in conflict and if so which one will wim. IMO, economists & those on these threads with an economic bias/squint would admit that economics trumps all systems of Government over time. Many say that Democracy's challenge going forward in inequality in that we are equal to the extent that we all have one vote, equal before the law & equal before our God.(at least In the West we have descended from the Judeo-Christian Tradition) yet inequality is increasing in Western Democracies over the past 50 yeras with the Rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Australia has had a culture of equality and a fair go but we seem to have been gradually Americanised since WW2.

I find what's happening in the housing market a prime example of this conflict. As we appear to be devolving to a feudalist system it is just a question of time until there are more of the one votes suffering badly from the system than profiting from it.
