"be trigger happy, ready to get out on profit and back in on dips, just until the markets settle down and this starts heading in one direction or another"

This is the general attitide in the markets atm. There is little trading volume with little big money sloshing around atm.Just smaller traders or bigger traders not being given as much of the fund piggy bank to play with.Abu's excellent TOP's table seems to illustrate this.

No different in many other areas of the economy.Investors/funds etc are battening down the financial hatches.Funds have made reasonable gains in the last year or so and it seems they are minimising their exposure to anything connected with the global economy.

Until we see the US get on a decent recovery footing and the Euro zone gets over its flu China wont have anywhere to sell its production except domestically and most here know that they still have a long way to go to become a consumer society so they arnt going to make up for the global western problems.

Id say we will have to wait until we see cash/profit in the CCC accounts from Penumbra before we get decent sp movement. Not taking into account Botswana and any other spiking annmnt. But then it probably wont be on huge volume anyway.May get an expectative rally prior to Pen production. But just how much will depend on how they work the hedged production returns and where the thermal coal price heads.
