I don't believe spod will have any meaningful return in price (2,000+ USD) until another 9 months+. When this happens investors will flow to producing assets and bigger high quality resources. I won't mention them but you guys know who I mean. CXO is a victim of its timing into the market, it missed the first wave, then got on the end of the second (ALTH) wave that. Thus the price will continue to dwindle unless some MnA happens. This happened to me with Altura which had a better resource and everything built (less the debt). The pressure from China and into Africa will only continue and I dont foresee a meaningful uptick. I think CXO management did a great job in having a fast halt in production but the evaluation only has one way to go and only the spod price will change this.
What price would you guys suggest management would start up again?
What price would you guys consider a buy out?
PS: My hope and belief if spod will eventually hit a higher price towards 3,000usd once the market matures into the next 3-5 years. If CXO lasts this then it will be valued many multiples of 200M.
