Yes, there is a certain degree of hyping going on, and the current approach & tech level has very real issues in certain usage cases, but this is not going away. Lithium is still looking pivotal as a core component of current and upcoming energy storage techs. I don't see that dependency shifting away from lithium for quite a while (like 10 years).
