"this is a war as a result of a massacre that took place in Israel on October 17.". ...... while this is true we also have to take into account the factors which enabled Hamas to have support, identified by a pollster interviewed by BBC shortly after Oct 7 as being 25%. most Gazans didn't approve of Hamas but had little choice as the elections which put Hamas into authority of governance were not considered to be "free and fair" by observers.
so how was Hamas supported sufficiently to make so many missiles and to prepare and carry out the incursion. the answer to this lies with the oppressive control over Gaza by Israel, the IDF incursions to arrest suspects, the controls Israel had on water, gas, food, medicines etc. and the restrictions of Gazans to work for a meaningful wage in Israel.
if Gaza wasn't maintained as a prison or ghetto the people would not have felt the need to revolt.
