In May 2008, TNG investors found themselves stranded with a low selling price. Faced with either a price obliteration or takeover, hundreds of mums and dads, some mortgaging their homes and others giving up their traditional weekend away, ploughed money to rescue TNG.

In all, these amateur investors held the price up for a few days but eventually succumbed to the fire power of a big bank, their positions betrayed by their own people, and finally fear drove many to abandon their positions which further exposed those that remained.
