now let's clear away the trash first...., this is not some mean-minded guess, David Crowe speculated this last weekend saying that Dutton recognised he was unlikely to win the coming election and was planning further ahead for the 2028 election. he's expecting to lose this next vote. given how he's conducting this exercise, imo Crowe is on the money. Dutton has now said if locals protested against his nukes they would be ignored and the plants go ahead anyway. thems fightin' words to many who aren't on his side. if he was looking for their votes, and some of the seats identified as nuclear sites are in LNP seats, he would need to be more conciliatory, language considerate. so this isn't about n nuclear energy; its about Dutton's election chances and is he PLANNING TO FAIL?

the current nuclear plan is a blatant flop given the lack of detail, the disagreement with every established authority on nuclear energy, and failing to recognise the 70%+ support for renewable energy. the voters in Liberal seats won't like it imo and this will enable more teals to win Liberal seats.
