G?day again chick.
No worries.
It?s an ignorant person that can?t admit when they are wrong (like that ignorant kid AKB over on AFR board) & I do get them wrong sometimes. Although I don?t think so on this one.
SBM was a 1:6
http://www.stbarbara.com.au/uploads/tx_rlsortthis/100907_ASX_Share_Consolidation_Proposal.pdf
Day before they closed 0.445 & next open was 2.70, almost spot on that 1:6, as is normal. Peaked a few cents higher at 2.79 that week, but been going down ever since. Now -33%. But to be fair we need to get the XGD difference from that consolidation date 7,853.5 & now 7331, down 6.7%. So I think we can see that SBM?s consolidation did not work. Haven?t got time to do TAM; maybe later.
So I still say that consolidations rarely work. If FML just concentrate on the business, our Mkt cap/SP will rise nicely. OXR had billions of shares & was played with by the traders for a long time. I started at 7c & it topped over $4.
If you're in for the medium/long term, as I am, what happens to the SP along the way is irrelevant (other than for nice buying opportunities).
So number of shares, really not an issue imho.
Cheers,
ned
