Gambling may even be counter-recessionary.
I know a lot of fairly well to do Asian people who also like gambling, they are totally disillusioned with proper investment now so they will be putting a lot more time, money and effort back into gambling.
That seems a ridiculous philosophy to me but thats how they think.
