Yes jd, they muust release news to the market as it becomes available.
Sometimes though, there might be half a deal under construction, in which case thee is nothing to report until it is finalised.

Signatures need to go on papers etc etc - so if there is something material to tell us, we'll get it.
If there is something material awaiting finalisation, and may result in leaks and therefore insider trading, they will put us in trading halt.

I presume that all the big players who sold won't buy back in until the news is KNOWN - creating a massive run on positive news.
Those of us buying in the last few days have been the positive speculators who expect a successful deal will be made.

Just a matter of time now.....
