Can anyone tell me how one proves a negative?

I suppose there is a first time in history for everything.

Now that said, it should be that agw has to be proved to be happening.

Now it seems to me that there are many people saying it should be happening, but, they have one problem - reality isn't matching their theories.

Will they still be theorising it in 50 years if we still have no warming?

How many years should one flog the horse before one decides to dismount and leave the carcass?
