You need to understand the Russian mentality. I'm no fan of Putin, but every time the West sticks it to Russia & Putin stands up to them his popularity GROWS. The Russians are pretty used to going without.
The US are hardly Mr popular around the world in fact they have lost a lot of credibility & also even support in the West due to their constant intervention in other countries affairs. These sanctions are absolute bollox & anyone intelligent knows it & its also hurting Europe.
