CNBC may be right or ...........
My preliminary thoughts are that gold is consolidating after a big move. It would appear that there have been some artifical (scandalous) influences during the POG rise. A rebalance may result in a fall - but too $700 ...... well that is crystal ball gazing.
The fact that Central Banks use gold to raise liquity when there are few available options AND the credit - debt bubble causing liquity problems is likely to continue unabated I see few reasons for gold falling too far ......
